Busy Bees
Latest update

July 2024

It was great to see Members bringing along their children as well to participate in light duties and have some fun with their Dads. The Busy Bees are a great way to achieve your two Club events to qualify to become a Full Member.

During the months many tasks have been completed such as regular mowing of the lawns, weeding of the gardens, removal of the beach sand blowing into our carpark area from the strong winds, washing down of the electric fence, washing and cleaning of the Club windows, washing and scrubbing the paved area under the Clubhouse, plus many other projects.

We have treated the steel structure for the Fish Cleaning station prior to painting it. We recently tried painting the structure with spray cans which unfortunately was not successful, so we reverted to painting the structure by brush which went well and came up a treat.

The metal tap posts in the boat wash-down area have also been painted in bright safety yellow. We received more conveyor belt matting which has been erected on the Western external boundary fence at the base, to help reduce the amount of beach sand blowing onto our Club grounds.

We have an additional seven rolls in storage as we are monitoring the effectiveness of the belt being one level in height to see if that is sufficient in holding the sand out. If not, we have enough to go one level higher. Hopefully, we won’t need to do this and will be able to utilise the remaining roles elsewhere.

The past three months have seen a huge effort by all those participating in the Busy Bees and thank you all for a great effort as our Club is looking great for all our Members to enjoy.

About us

Don Beisley, our Vice Commodore, leads a Busy Bee session on the second Saturday of each month to help maintain our beautiful Club facilities and grounds. Volunteers meet at 8:30 a.m. in Louise’s Bar and spend a few hours working on different tasks each month. The morning is pleasant for everyone and ends with a light morning tea.

Volunteering in a Busy Bee is a rewarding experience that brings together Club members and volunteers to work on a shared project for a few hours once a month. Whether it involves cleaning up, planting or tidying gardens, painting, or setting up for functions, Busy Bees foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Plus you get to enjoy a delicious morning tea afterwards!

If you have a couple of hours free, why not come down and volunteer!

Many hands make light work and it really does help the club. PLUS it is a fantastic way to meet other Members and is a great opportunity for probationary Members to have their VIP card signed off.

Please call the Club on 9418 5868 or email Cindy at admin@cpb.org.au to register. We look forward to seeing you there!
